IN-DEPTH: Rugby Shop Dijon
From what The Pinot Front Row can tell there is only one shop in Burgundy dedicated to rugby - Rugby Store Dijon.
It’s located in a busy commercial area of Dijon known as Quetigny and The Pinot Front Row recently had some time to visit as Mrs Pinot Front Row was off browsing homewares (or something mundanely similar) nearby. The store is easy to get to – just take tram T1 to Grand Marche and it’s a short walk from there.
All in all Rugby Store Dijon is worth a visit if you're in the area and are in the market for a gift or even a little something stylish for yourself during the Rugby World Cup.
As rugby shops in France go it’s a decent size and has a good range of items. There’s a section for players of course, with boots, socks and the like. But there’s also a lot of rugby merchandise and rugby fashion (it is France after all).
One brand The Pinot Front Row was unfamiliar with and that has a considerable footprint in the Rugby Shop Dijon is Ruckfield: https://www.ruckfield.com/fr/. Ever wondered what Sebastien Chabal is doing with his time post-rugby, this is it. And indeed there’s few more recognizable French rugby players than l'Homme des Cavernes (aka. the Caveman). And from what The Pinot Front Row saw the clothes on offer were pretty impressive, stylish and seemed to be good quality too.
Beyond the rugby fashion there’s a range of rugby merchandise, mostly French. Quite a lot of All Blacks stuff as well. There was even a selection of Super Rugby and European Rugby merchandise, and of course a good range of rugby World Cup merchandise, nicely timed for the kick-off of the tournament in September.
Yours in rugby,
The Pinot Front Row
